“The Comanche Boy” George Tahdooahnippah grew up the southern plains of Oklahoma . Tahdooahnippah is of Comanche and Choctaw descent. He is an enrolled member of the Comanche Nation. First and foremost, Tahdooahnippah is a family man. He is a father, recently completed his Bachelors of Business Administration (May 2010), Health & Fitness Promoter for the Comanche Nation Diabetes Program, and a professional boxer.
Tahdooahnippah began his competitive competition in baseball, football and wrestling. He continued his football and wrestling throughout his school years and was awarded numerous honors in both. Tahdooahnippah excelled in wrestling and earned the honors of a Cadet Greco-Roman All-American, placing 7th in the United States . He won many wrestling titles, including a tour to Japan, representing Oklahoma as an Oklahoma All Star. His achievements landed him a full wrestling scholarship at Delaware State University .
Tahdooahnippah, at the age of 23, then turned his career into amateur kickboxing. He won the North Texas Light Heavyweight title and was the Runner-Up at the 2002 Sansho-Kickboxing World Championships. Tahdooahnippah returned back to Lawton , Oklahoma to fight in the Original Toughman competition. Tahdooahnippah dominated the competition to win the light heavyweight championship. It was then he found his calling as a boxer.
At the age of 23, he was a late beginner in boxing, but his natural abilities proved he was destined to be a boxer. He continued to box and train out of a Lawton boxing gym, where he met a professional boxer named, Grady Brewer. Tahdooahnippah was taking the same path Brewer had journeyed. Brewer was a former Toughman champion, turned professional boxer. Brewer is an experienced professional, who has fought numerous world champions and later won the 2006 Contender Series Championship. Tahdooahnippah began his boxing career, learning, training, and sparring with Grady Brewer. The mentorship proved to be invaluable. Tahdooahnippah went on to win another consecutive Original Toughman competition and qualified to fight in the 2003 Original Toughman Sweet 16 World Championship Finals.
In April 2004, at the age of 25, Tahdooahnippah had his first professional fight and won by TKO in the first round. Tahdooahnippah’s career was slow during the 2004-2006 years. He had only 4 fights and remained undefeated. He made some transitions in his boxing career and signed with manager, Bobby Dobbs. Mr. Dobbs serves as the Vice President/Matchmaker for Holden Productions.
In April 2007, Tahdooahnippah finally embarked on what he felt, the beginning of his professional boxing career. His record now stands at 23-0-1 (18 KO). He has been featured three times on ESPN2's Friday Night Fights. Team Comanche Boy has now teamed up with new trainer, Jeff Mayweather, along with old time trainer, David Vaughn.
